Clubs & Organizations
The Model A community is large, welcoming, and well-organized. These are the two primary national clubs:
NC Model A Club
Our local club. Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and are a great place to meet fellow owners, get advice, and stay connected with the community. Enter at the east end of the building. You can join the club at the meeting.

The largest Model A club in the world, with local chapters across the United States and internationally. MAFCA publishes the Restorer magazine, hosts the annual Grand National meet, and maintains technical standards for judged shows. Our local club is affiliated with MAFCA.

Founded in 1952, MARC is the second major national club. It publishes The Model A News and holds its own national meets and judging programs. Many owners belong to both clubs.

Model 'A' Instruction Book (1928)
A reprint of the original owner's manual that came with the car when new. Covers operation, lubrication schedules, and basic maintenance. Reprints are widely available from club suppliers.
Model A Ford Troubleshooting & Diagnostics by Les Andrews (blue cover)
The step-by-step manual for diagnosing and fixing Model A's. Also contains information on Model A systems such as electrical, cooling, and more. An essential hands-on reference.
Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook, Vol. I by Les Andrews (maroon cover)
A wealth of information on repair, service adjustments, lubrication and oil, and troubleshooting. Vol. II (green cover) covers more advanced topics you won't need right away.
The Ford Model A — As Henry Built It by Robert Hungness
A detailed photographic reference covering all body styles, colors, options, and changes by year. Considered a standard reference for restorers.
MAFCA & MARC Judging Standards
Both clubs publish detailed judging guidelines that double as restoration references, covering correct parts, finishes, and specifications by production date.
